Oral Health and Special Care Dentistry. Health for all – how to achieve in patients with additional support needs?

Agenda for 2024:
- Welcome and participants’ introduction
- Background on the purpose of the workshop: to recognize the importance of availability, accessibility to health and education, to information and communication, in enabling persons with additional support needs to fully enjoy all human rights.
- The aim is to provide aspects of different challenges that are possible in everyday clinical practice through opinions of different healthcare professionals such as physicians, dentists, and special education therapists.
- Introducing International Association for Disability and Oral Health Toolbox for measuring attitudes and intended behaviors to the participants.
- Role play
- Emphasizing the importance of assessing and improving healthcare workforce attitudes, beliefs and intended behaviors toward people with additional support needs is as important as professional training having in mind the impact on accessibility and availability of health care.

- Discussion on WHO Oral Health Action Plan -focusing on Financial models, UHC, and Oral health care systems. Transition to the new SIG of “Oral health care within universal health coverage and general health care”- Co-chair position announcement.
